RISING SUN, Pa. (WHTM) \u2014 A Pennsylvania man was shot by a member of a police tactical team Saturday afternoon after a standoff, police said.<\/p>\n
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Bethlehem, troopers were called to the 2800 block of Rockdale Road in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, \u2014 about 10 miles north of center city Allentown \u2014 around 11 a.m. for a report of a disturbance involving a man with a gun.<\/p>\n
A man, 27, of North Whitehall Township, was seen sitting in the driver\u2019s seat of a sedan win the driveway, holding a handgun.<\/p>\n
Troopers said the man fired the handgun multiple times as they attempted to speak to him. He also aimed the gun at troopers multiple times, they said.<\/p>\n
The State Police Special Emergency Response Team responded \u201cand attempted to negotiate a peaceful resolution with the man,\u201d troopers said.<\/p>\n
Troopers said the man fired the gun and was then shot by a SERT member.<\/p>\n
The man was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital \u2013 Cedar Crest for treatment. No troopers were injured.<\/p>\n
