\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Elton \u201cButch\u201d Butler, Jr., 81, of Reading, passed away on January 20, 2026, at Reading Hospital.<\/p>\n
Born in Reading, PA, Butch was the son of the late Arnietta (Dorsey) Butler and Elton Butler, Sr. He was a graduate of Reading High School and went on to attend Penn State Berks. He proudly served as a member of the United States Army Reserve.<\/p>\n
Butch built a long and respected career in human resources, where he worked for many years before retiring in 2010. He was known for his steady presence and dedication to his work.<\/p>\n
On July 11, 1977, he married the love of his life, Patricia A. (Parenti) Butler, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; son, Jared Butler, husband of Jackie, of Newtown, PA; cherished grandsons, Jace and Carson; and daughter, Renee Glover, of Shillington. He is also survived by his brother, Russell Butler, husband of Deborah, of Shillington, PA.<\/p>\n
In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Bolton.<\/p>\n
Butch will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose life was marked by quiet strength and simplicity.<\/p>\n
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 a at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. A prayer service will follow at the Chapel of St. George in Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Laureldale, PA 19605.<\/p>\n
