{"id":96615,"date":"2026-01-25T22:00:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-25T22:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/96615\/"},"modified":"2026-01-25T22:00:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-25T22:00:11","slug":"lights-in-the-parkway-vandalism-18-year-old-3-juveniles-accused-of-damage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/96615\/","title":{"rendered":"Lights in the Parkway vandalism: 18-year-old, 3 juveniles accused of damage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZHISXWJIWVHILAUSDPKUCTN2W4\">Four people have been charged a month after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lehighvalleylive.com\/allentown\/2025\/12\/allentown-lights-in-the-parkway-vandalized-hanukkah-celebration-still-on.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.lehighvalleylive.com\/allentown\/2025\/12\/allentown-lights-in-the-parkway-vandalized-hanukkah-celebration-still-on.html\">vandalism caused more than $46,000 in damage at Lights in the Parkway<\/a> in Allentown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"HPLMVA57EJHNDLDFF763KO2V4U\">One man and three juveniles are accused of the damages at the annual outdoor light display, according to a news release Friday from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lehighcounty.org\/Departments\/District-Attorney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.lehighcounty.org\/Departments\/District-Attorney\">Lehigh County District Attorney\u2019s Office<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"U3TDQKZ6MJGWXH776434LGCJOU\">The damage was reported on Dec. 14, 2025, near the Robinhood Bridge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"VW7IYPEL6ZETXNN2YJAMDVQHHY\">An 18-year-old from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowermac.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.lowermac.com\/\">Lower Macungie Township<\/a> was charged with two felony counts of criminal mischief involving damage exceeding $5,000 in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7IUVGGH32JEUFEQ7V6NQ56P7SY\">He was arraigned and released on $10,000 unsecured bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 26 before District Judge Karen Devine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"DLRUZMRTRJADNCRLD5FUR3MMC4\">The three juveniles, whose names were not released, were also charged with criminal mischief in connection with the incident, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"BQDX53JEQFEKRJUFJS3SHXTSLY\">Police said the vandalism included damage to multiple light display fixtures, including bent poles and posts, crushed light bulbs and a porta-potty that was pushed into the Lehigh Creek, causing the display to close temporarily.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"WSZYVGK3ZZBCXFP6CMTYTQGBC4\">Officials said the cost of the damages was estimated at $46,512<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"G62IT53X6NAERPLVOBQ6HWVOMA\">The investigation involved interviews and a review of video surveillance, which authorities said linked the man and the juveniles to the incident. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"F47NAFLRCBFSNBIUB6DF5X6JUQ\">The case was investigated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allentownpa.gov\/en-us\/Government\/Departments\/Police\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.allentownpa.gov\/en-us\/Government\/Departments\/Police\">Allentown Police Detective<\/a> Ariel Vidal and will be prosecuted by Chief Deputy District Attorney Gregory R.
