Conditions worsened significantly north of the Allegheny County line.<\/p>\n Click here for more details.<\/a><\/p>\n UPDATE 10 p.m.<\/p>\n PennDOT says that, due to winter weather conditions, two roads in Harrison Township are closed until further notice:<\/p>\n Burtner Road (Route 1032) between Freeport Road and Route 28<\/p>\n Pleasantville Road (Route 1027) between Carlisle Street and Burtner Road<\/p>\n UPDATE 9:40 p.m.<\/p>\n The latest look at I-279 in Allegheny County shows the road still mostly covered in snow after a historic snowfall. Take a look.<\/p>\n UPDATE 9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n PennDOT said the following roads are closed in Harrison Township until further notice:<\/p>\n Burtner Road (Route 1032) between Freeport Road and Route 28<\/p>\n Pleasantville Road (Route 1027) between Carlisle Street and Burtner Road<\/p>\n UPDATE 9:00 p.m.<\/p>\n UPMC released a statement about its plans for operations after Sunday\u2019s historic snowfall. Here\u2019s their message to anyone who may be concerned about their appointment or procedure on Monday:<\/p>\n \u201cAll UPMC hospitals and emergency departments have continued to operate without interruption throughout the weekend, thanks to the dedication of our staff.<\/p>\n \u201cPatients scheduled for procedures or office visits on Monday should confirm their appointments before traveling. ACCESS has started notifying riders who have trips scheduled.<\/p>\n This comes after PRT announced it was suspending all bus and rail services<\/a> until Monday due to the winter storm.<\/p>\n UPDATE 7 p.m.<\/p>\n Channel 11\u2019s Addison Albert spoke with hotel guests who are stuck at the Hampton Inn in North Huntingdon Township because of the snow.<\/p>\n They said they attended a wedding the night before.<\/p>\n Click here for how they say they are making the best of the situation.<\/a><\/p>\n UPDATE 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n The City of Pittsburgh will activate four warming centers on Monday as low temperatures linger after the storm.<\/p>\n Click here for the full list of locations.<\/a><\/p>\n UPDATE 6:25 p.m.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s the latest on our ketchup bottle snow test!<\/p>\n UPDATE 5:50 p.m.<\/p>\n Schools and businesses aren\u2019t the only places closing during the major winter storm.<\/p>\n Courts and public office buildings in our area have announced closures as winter weather sweeps through.<\/p>\n Click here for the list of closures so far.<\/a><\/p>\n UPDATE 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n Pittsburgh Regional Transit announced it is suspending all bus and rail services through Sunday.<\/p>\n A PRT spokesperson said the suspension is effective immediately and that operations are expected to resume on Monday morning.<\/p>\n \u201cOur operators deserve to be commended for doing their best under very challenging conditions, but the situation has deteriorated to the point where continuing service could put both our operators and riders at risk,\u201d said PRT CEO Katharine Kelleman. \u201cWith several buses already stuck in the snow, we must err on the side of caution and safety.\u201d<\/p>\n Click here for more details.<\/a><\/p>\n UPDATE 5:10 p.m.<\/p>\n Multiple municipalities in Allegheny County have declared a state of emergency as the region experiences heavy snowfall.<\/p>\n The county currently has 16 disaster declarations, including 20 municipalities, according to Kasey Reigner, Department of Emergency Services public information officer.<\/p>\n Click here to view the full list.<\/a><\/p>\n UPDATE 5:00 p.m.<\/p>\n Channel 11 crews observed a vehicle left off the side of I-279 in Allegheny County.<\/p>\n UPDATE 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n The latest update from Pittsburgh Regional Transit says that all routes are currently experiencing at least an hour-long delay.<\/p>\n PRT said the following routes are impacted:<\/p>\n 6-Spring Hill,\u00a015-Charles, and 17-Shadeland are unable to serve parts of the North Side.<\/p>\n 39-Brookline is unable to serve parts of Brookline<\/p>\n 44-Knoxville is unable to serve parts of Mount Oliver<\/p>\n 54-Northside-Oakland is unable to serve Bon Air<\/p>\n 57-Hazelwood is unable to serve Blair Street in Hazelwood<\/p>\n 59-Mon Valley is unable to serve Mon View Heights in Whitaker or between Duquesne and Whitaker.<\/p>\n 61A-North Braddock, 61B-Braddock, and P68-Braddock Hills Flyer are unable to serve the Braddock Hills Shopping Center<\/p>\n 67-Monroeville will stay on William Penn Highway. Mayor Iorfido-Schmidt is asking everyone to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.<\/p>\n UPDATE 10:30 a.m.:<\/p>\n The latest on our ketchup bottle:<\/p>\n UPDATE 10:23 a.m.: <\/p>\n Many flights at Pittsburgh International Airport have been canceled.<\/p>\n The airport is recommending checking directly with your airline for the most up-to-date information on delays or cancellations if you\u2019re traveling today or tomorrow.<\/p>\n UPDATE 10 a.m.:<\/p>\n PRT provided an update, saying all service is currently experiencing up to 60-minute delays due to road conditions.<\/p>\n Buses are unable to serve parts of Penn Hills (Alcoma Apartments), Fineview, the Hill District, Garfield, Duquesne, the North Side, and Braddock Hills.<\/p>\n UPDATE 9:30 a.m.: <\/p>\n As snow continues to fall, the impact is being seen on Pittsburgh area highways.<\/p>\n Our crews encountered I-79 near the Wexford exit as being snow-packed around 9 a.m.<\/p>\n UPDATE 8:40 a.m.:<\/p>\n Scott Township has issued a Declaration of Emergency.<\/p>\n According to a letter from the township, the declaration allows them to take immediate action to protect the health, safety and welfare of residents. It enables local officials and emergency services to more efficiently respond to conditions, coordinate resources and implement any necessary measures to address the situation.<\/p>\n They are asking residents to remain alert, follow guidelines from local officials and avoid unnecessary travel.<\/p>\n Scott Township Emergency Declaration <\/a> by WPXI <\/a><\/p>\n UPDATE 8 a.m.:<\/p>\n Channel 11 is measuring the snow with a ketchup bottle!<\/p>\n UPDATE 7:30 a.m.<\/p>\n Channel 11\u2019s Andrew Havranek has an update on the conditions in North Huntingdon, Westmoreland County.<\/p>\n UPDATE 7:20 a.m.:<\/p>\n Mt Lebanon said that they have their full crew of plows out, but to expect snow on your route if you must be on the roads.<\/p>\n UPDATE 7:10 a.m.:<\/p>\n Pittsburgh Regional Transit said that they are seeing systemwide delays of about 30 minutes. They added that road conditions are preventing them from serving some communities in the North Side, Penn Hills, and Braddock Hills.<\/p>\n UPDATE 7 a.m.:<\/p>\n The Rochester Borough Police Department in Beaver County is urging residents to avoid travel and not drive unless absolutely necessary.<\/p>\n UPDATE 6:15 a.m.:<\/p>\n Melissa Maczko, spokesperson for PennDOT District 12, said that their crews will remain on the roads through the storm and and after for cleanup.<\/p>\n She added that drivers should expect to see snow-covered conditions as it continues to fall.<\/p>\n \u201cA snow route could take anywhere from two hours to several hours depending on the storm\u2019s intensity,\u201d Maczko said.<\/p>\n She said that District 12, which covers Washington, Westmoreland, Greene and Fayette counties, has 200 snow plow routes.
