Fireworks, concerts, and community events headline Erie\u2019s America250 plans<\/p>\n

Tonight,\u00a0Mayor Daria S. Devlin, 49th Mayor of the City of Erie, announced\u00a0the City\u2019s plans for America250\u00a0at Erie County\u2019s Kickoff event,\u00a0highlighting\u00a0the strong partnership between\u00a0the\u00a0City, Erie County, and\u00a0America250PA Commission.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0no secret that\u00a0our\u00a0great city of Erie,\u00a0the state\u2019s\u00a0gateway to\u00a0historic Lake Erie,\u00a0has played\u00a0a huge role in shaping our nation. And\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0exactly what we\u00a0intend to celebrate\u00a0with Erie\u2019s\u00a0plans for America\u2019s 250th\u00a0birthday,\u201d said Mayor Devlin. \u201cAs the seat of Erie County, and in close coordination with the America250PA Commission and our county partners, we are celebrating our legacy with excellence, honoring the generations who came before us, and caring for the future we are building together.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Events include: \u00a0<\/p>\n

America250PA Commonwealth Concert Series concert on June 6th<\/p>\n

Erie will host one of only six concerts for PA\u2019s 250th Anniversary Celebration at the Erie Insurance Arena<\/p>\n

Fireworks and concert\u00a0at Rebich Investments Amphitheater at Liberty Park on July 3rd.<\/p>\n

Special commemorative events at the City\u2019s 2026\u00a0CelebrateErie\u00a0weekend<\/p>\n

In partnership with key stakeholders, a series of additional\u00a0events\u00a0will be held\u00a0from June through September, offering even more opportunities to commemorate and celebrate this incredible milestone.<\/p>\n

Details will be announced\u00a0at a press conference on\u00a0April 14th<\/p>\n

Hunter Lytle, Special Events Coordinator\u00a0for the Mayor\u2019s Office of Community Affairs, and Cassandra Coleman, Executive Director of\u00a0America250PA,\u00a0both emphasized the importance of strong collaboration to ensure success.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmerica250PA is built on local leadership, and Erie is\u00a0a great example\u00a0of that. The City and County\u2019s work reflect civic pride, collaboration, and deep respect for the people who built our Commonwealth and this iconic corner of Pennsylvania,\u201d\u00a0said Coleman. \u201cWe\u2019re proud to help lift that work up\u2014and we\u2019re excited to celebrate Erie in a big way in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very excited to work with\u00a0America250PA\u2019s Commission, the\u00a0County, and our other key partners to put together a monumental celebration for the 250th\u00a0anniversary of America this summer,\u201d said Lytle. \u201cThis is a huge celebration, and Erie is meeting the moment with events and activities that\u00a0showcase\u00a0our history and\u00a0contributions.<\/p>\n
