{"id":98147,"date":"2026-01-27T19:21:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T19:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/98147\/"},"modified":"2026-01-27T19:21:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T19:21:07","slug":"amazon-fresh-store-closing-in-bensalem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/98147\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon Fresh Store Closing In Bensalem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 The much-anticipated Amazon Fresh supermarket is shutting its doors in the near future as the company has announced it will exist as an online brand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/pennsylvania\/across-pa\/amazon-fresh-closing-pa-stores-some-could-become-whole-foods-markets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Amazon said Tuesday it is closing its Fresh<\/a> and cashierless Go stores in Pennsylvania and nationwide, including two others in Bucks County in Oxford Valley and Warrington.<\/p>\n<p>Some closed Fresh and Go stores will be converted to Whole Foods Markets, the company said. It plans to open 100 new stores over the next few years.<\/p>\n<p>The company did not clarify at this point which of the Fresh locations could become Whole Foods stores.<\/p>\n<p>The 42,000-square-foot store at 1837 Street Road opened in August 2024. Township officials and residents had doubts the Amazon Fresh store would ever open.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/pennsylvania\/bensalem\/empty-amazon-store-eyesore-bensalem-mayor-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Other Amazon Fresh stores in Pennsylvania are located in Broomall, Willow Grove, and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon launched its grocery business two decades ago and acquired Whole Foods in 2017 for $13.7 billion.
