Crews in Center City Philadelphia were working to clear the streets of ice and snow after this weekend\u2019s winter storm on Tuesday, with several roadways closed so work could be done.<\/p>\n
NBC10’s Shaira Arias was out to see crews plowing and using dumpsters to remove snow. The impacted streets included:<\/p>\n
\u2022 \u00a0Penn Square around City Hall
\u2022 \u00a0North Broad from Arch Street to City Hall
\u2022 \u00a0South Broad from Chestnut Street to City Hall
\u2022 \u00a015th Street from Arch Street to Chestnut Street
\u2022 \u00a0JFK Boulevard from Filbert to 16th Street
\u2022 \u00a0East Market Street from 13th Street to City Hall
\u2022 \u00a0West Market Street from 16th Street to City Hall<\/p>\n
Teddy Sirias, a restaurant owner in Center City, said the streets complicate his business due to customer access and deliveries being extra burdened by uncleared roads.<\/p>\n
“Chestnut Street, Walnut Street, impossible earlier,” he said. “Sansom street, not even to pull over and walk inside and check on something there is no where to go.”<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe dangerously cold temperatures make digging out from all the snow a tough task. NBC10’s Isabel Sanchez caught up with neighbors in South Philadelphia.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
However, in some neighborhoods outside of Center City, such as Fairmount, are having the snow dumped there. <\/p>\n
“I feel like I live in Alaska, and these are my mountains,” a woman there said. “They covered everything.
