CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) \u2014 A survivor of human trafficking who was reported missing in Pennsylvania nearly two years ago has been found safe.<\/p>\n

Pennsylvania State Police <\/a>said Wednesday<\/a>\u00a0that the search for Lauren Steele was over, as she had been found and is safe. Additional details about where she was found were not released.<\/p>\n

Steele, who was 36 years old at the time she was reported missing, is a human trafficking survivor, according to a June 2025 report from NewsNation<\/a>, and she was headed to Las Vegas from Carlisle to attend a program for human trafficking survivors.<\/p>\n

Steele was going to fly to Las Vegas from Pennsylvania, but her flight was delayed, so she was put in a Carlisle hotel. She contacted her family after getting to the hotel, telling them there was a man waiting outside for her who was supposed to help her get on the plane, according to the report.<\/p>\n

At the time, that was the last her parents had ever heard from her, NewsNation reported.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, Steele was originally from New York but had also lived in Virginia and was moving to Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
