\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Denise A. Pietruszkiewicz, 69, of Throop, passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Michael M. Pietruszkiewicz.<\/p>\n
\nBorn in Scranton on May 15, 1956, to Constance Marushock, Throop, and the late George Marushock. Denise was a devoted Catholic, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She was a 1974 graduate of Mid Valley High School and retired from W.W. Norton & Company, Dunmore.<\/p>\n
\nDenise enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. She was well-known for her exceptional cooking and baking skills, being the biggest cheerleader at family sporting events, and a loyal friend and mentor. She lived her life dedicated to being there for everyone, no matter what. She truly was the epitome of selflessness.<\/p>\n
\nAlso surviving are two daughters, Amy and Michele Pietruszkiewicz; grandchildren, Cori Michele, Sean Michael, Joseph, and Nathan, all of whom she adored and were her world. Along with brothers, George and Chad Marushock, sister, Patrice Scarlata, several in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
\nShe was preceded in death by her father, George E. Marushock, brother, Edward H. Marushock; and brother-in-law Joseph Pietruszkiewicz.<\/p>\n
\nFriends may call on Friday, January 30th, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Frank T Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City.<\/p>\n
\nA Christian Mass will be held on Saturday, January 31st, beginning at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave, Scranton. Anyone attending Mass is asked to go directly to the church. To leave an online condolence visit the funeral home website.<\/p>\n
