AUSTIN, Texas — The Hands Off Central TX coalition is hosting the No Kings 2 protest Saturday afternoon. This is one of more than 2200 demonstrations across the United States that aims to reject authoritarianism and promote democracy.
The event began with attendees assembling on the South steps of the Texas Capitol with featured speakers, including Congressman Greg Casar.

The assembly will be followed by a march to Auditorium Shores where dozens of community organizations hosted what they called “democracy villages”, aiming to highlight issues such as immigration, labor, environment, education, and healthcare.
“We rejected kings in 1776, and we reject them today,” the Hands Off Central TX Coalition stated in a press release. “This rally builds momentum for pro-democracy organizing across the state and nation.”
