CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Firefighters with the Corpus Christi Fire Department and Emergency Services District 2 responded to a vehicle fire outside a Chick-fil-A restaurant on South Padre Island Drive Tuesday.

Officials said crews were called to the 9600 block of SPID, where a vehicle was on fire near the building. Firefighters were able to work quickly to extinguish the flames before the fire could spread or cause significant damage to the restaurant.

No injuries were reported.

The restaurant was not damaged and remained open for business following the incident.

The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
