Head coach Manny Diaz joined in the fun. He was gifted a sombrero from the Sun Bowl Association and showed off some dance moves for the crowd.
Duke enters the Sun Bowl with an 8‑5 record and as 2025 ACC champions. The Blue Devils made headlines with a major upset over No. 16 Virginia in the conference championship game. Duke winning that game completely shook up the College Football Playoff picture. Despite feeling they deserved a playoff spot, Duke ultimately did not make it.
The Blue Devils will hold their first practice in El Paso on Saturday as they continue preparations for the program’s second ever Sun Bowl appearance.
The 2025 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl between Duke and Arizona State is set for Dec. 31, 2025, at Sun Bowl Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. MT.
