Week 17 of the 2025 NFL season will continue on this afternoon with a battle of playoff-bound contenders as the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Buffalo Bills at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.

The Eagles officially clinched the NFC East title in a 29-18 victory over the Commanders last Saturday and still have a slight shot at grabbing the No. 2 seed in the conference. Tight end Dallas Goedert has been a scoring machine for the offense all season long and we’ll see how he fares in this late-season matchup in western New York.

Below, we’ll go over Goedert’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 17.

Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles TE Dallas Goedert

Goedert had another solid effort for the Eagles in last Saturday’s win over the Commanders, catching three targets for 32 receiving yards and a third-quarter touchdown that gave them the lead. That marks three receiving touchdowns in the last two games for the veteran pass-catcher and he’s now tied with Trey McBride for most trips to the end-zone by a TE this season with 10.

Goedert has remained the most effective red-zone TE target in the league this season and it has resulted in him entering this week as the No. 2 fantasy TE in standard leagues. He’ll surely be put to the test at Highmark Stadium this afternoon.

Start or sit in Week 17?

Sit. The Bills have shut down opposing tight ends this season, limiting them to 493 receiving yards and three touchdowns to the tune of 5.0 fantasy points per game. If you have confidence that Goedert can buck this and carry you over the finish line in your championship game, go right ahead. Otherwise, I’d think about other options with more favorable matchups this week before sticking with the veteran.
