The offensive line remains the biggest question mark for the Houston Texans entering Week 7, but it is trending upward after a lost season in pass protection in 2024.
How much more improved is the five-man front as the Texans prepare to take on the Seahawks in their second primetime game of the regular season?
PFF ranked all 32 offensive line units heading into Week 7. With Ryan Kelly and Brian O’Neill out, the Vikings‘ line is ranked 29th.
Houston’s offensive line has given up 44 pressures this season, including seven sacks, across 173 dropbacks. That has led to an 85.3 PFF pass-blocking efficiency rating, which ranks ninth after six weeks.
PFF lists players in red that are considered “weak links” with an underwhelming grade. Only right guard Ed Ingram and right tackle Tytus Howard were listed in positive territory. Ingram was rightly listed as the Texans’ best player on the line after posting a league-leading 88.1 run-blocking grade to begin the regular season. Albeit his pass-blocking grade of 61.1 is underwhelming, it’s still a passable grade.
