LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The world’s largest basketball tournament, the Caprock Classic, returns to Lubbock Monday, Dec. 29 and will run up until the championship games on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

The tournament will be spread across 13 Lubbock school gyms with 96 teams from all over the state and even outside of Texas.
The tournament is hosted by Lubbock Caprock AMBUCS, a local non-profit comprised of community volunteers. Funds raised from the Caprock Classic are used to help people with disabilities. They strive to give away dozens of trykes every year
This is the 66th Caprock Classic which has grown from being a small boys-only tournament to now being broken into girls and boys; small school and large school, split up between six different brackets.

The tournament will hold games at four different school districts in Lubbock, Lubbock ISD, Lubbock Cooper ISD, Trinity ISD, and Frenship ISD. The schools where games will be played are Frenship (gyms one & two), Cooper Middle School, Coronado, Lubbock Cooper (gyms one & two), Estacado (gyms one & two), Lubbock Cooper Liberty (gyms A & B), Lubbock High, Monterey (new gym), and Trinity Christian.
