Two men were killed in two separate shooting incidents on Sunday in Dallas, according to police reports.
Police responded to the 14000 block of Peyton Drive in Far North Dallas at approximately 5:57 a.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Police located suspect Alberto Palacios and transported him to Jack Evans Police Headquarters. The victim’s identity has not been released pending family notification. Investigators have documented the case under number 185228-2025.
The preliminary investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to establish a motive. No additional details about the circumstances leading to the shooting were immediately available.
In a separate and apparently unrelated incident, Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 1800 block of Sylvan Avenue in West Dallas at 2:52 a.m. on December 28. Juan Cardoza, 19, was found at the scene suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital, where he died.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, investigators said the West Dallas shooting occurred in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven, where a security guard was sitting inside a gray sedan when a man allegedly reached into the vehicle and took a firearm.
Police previously said the guard exited the vehicle and fired shots as the man attempted to flee in a dark-colored Dodge Charger, which later crashed into a parked pickup truck.
In both shooting cases, the Dallas County Grand Jury will review the evidence to determine whether formal charges will be filed.
