CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 23-year-old Kingsville man was killed in a Christmas Eve motorcycle crash in Nueces County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Sgt. Rob Mallory said the crash happened around 8:36 a.m. on FM 665 near County Road 67 in the Petronila area.

Mallory said a 2025 CFMOTO 450 SS motorcycle was traveling east at a high rate of speed when heavy fog reduced visibility. The rider failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck a metal pole.

The impact caused the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle.

The rider was identified as Jesse Acuna Jr., 23, of Kingsville. He was transported to CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Mallory said.

Acuna’s family has been notified.

The crash remains under investigation by troopers from the DPS Highway Patrol Office in Corpus Christi.
