Family, friends and law enforcement continue to search for 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, who vanished on Christmas Eve and has a history of suicidal ideation

Law Enforcement and volunteers in San Antonio, Texas, are expanding efforts to locate missing teen beauty Camila Mendoza Olmos, a 19-year-old who disappeared early on Christmas Eve. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar has recently expressed concerns over the teen’s mental health as well, stating that she could be in “imminent danger.”

Olmos was last seen just before 7 AM Wednesday, December 24, leaving her northwest Bexar County home on foot. Surveillance video captured Olmos searching inside her vehicle, which remained at the residence, prompting law enforcement to conclude that she had walked away from the scene. She was last seen wearing baby blue pajama shorts, a black hoodie and white shoes. Her phone was later found at home with a dead battery, and she may have had only her car keys and driver’s license. Per the NY Post, Olmos told her best friend on the phone that day that “she loved her.”

Investigators from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said Olmos has a history of depression and suicidal ideation, and her family has stated they hope she gets help if she sees the widespread search for her whereabouts. Sheriff Javier Salazar noted that emotional stress and other personal issues may have weighed on her in recent weeks, such as a recent breakup with her boyfriend. Olmos’ mother, Rosario Olmos, became concerned when her daughter failed to return from a routine morning walk. After contacting Camila’s former boyfriend and father, who also had not heard from her, the mother reported her missing to law enforcement.

Dozens of family members, friends and community volunteers have joined the search, which has included drones, scent-tracking dogs and coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A CLEAR Alert, a statewide system for finding potentially endangered adults, was issued. A community prayer gathering and organized search efforts continue as Olmos’ loved ones plead for information. “I only ask God to please bring her back home,” her mother told a local news station.
