A former McKinney city manager and his wife were found dead in a home Sunday morning, leading to an officer-involved shooting that left a third person injured, McKinney police said in a statement.
Officers responded to a residence in the 5300 block of Dunster Drive around 9:56 a.m. to conduct a welfare check. The check had been requested by family members who had not heard from the residents for several days.
Officers entered the home through the back door and located two homicide victims in the living room, the statement said.
The victims have been identified as 73-year-old Leonard Ragan and 72-year-old Jackie Ragan, according to the statement. Police did not immediately disclose the relationship between the two or say how they died.

Police located Bryce Ragan, 34, inside a bedroom with a gun. Two officers discharged their weapons, striking Ragan several times. Police also did not disclose his relationship to the two found slain.

Ragan was transported to a hospital, where he is in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon, the statement said.
No officers were injured during the incident. Police did not say if the two officers would be placed on administrative duty while the incident is investigated.
Leonard Ragan served as the McKinney city manager from March 2008 to June 2010, according to a statement from current City Manager Paul Grimes.
“We have learned that former City Manager Frank Ragan and his wife were tragically found deceased in their home,” Grimes said in the statement. “Our condolences and prayers are with the family.”
No further information about the incident was immediately available. No arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon.
It was the second officer-involved shooting in McKinney since March. The incident is also the fifth officer-involved shooting in December in North Texas. The other incidents occurred in Lake Worth, Mesquite, Haslet and Grand Prairie.
