EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The Sun Bowl festivities are in full swing as the Duke Blue Devils experienced a piece of West Texas culture on Saturday with a tour of the iconic Lucchese Boot Factory.

The team arrived in El Paso on Friday and spent part of Saturday at the factory, where they were fitted for and each given a custom pair of boots, considered to be a traditional Sun Bowl welcome gift for visiting teams.

The Blue Devils will continue their Borderland experience with a tour of Fort Bliss on Monday as they prepare for Wednesday’s Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game.

Their opponents, the Arizona State Sun Devils, are scheduled to receive the same Lucchese welcome with a factory tour and custom boots on Tuesday.

The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl will be held on Dec. 31, 2025, at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas.

Tickets for the game are currently on sale and can be purchased online, by phone at (915) 533-4416, via email at ticket@sunbowl.org, or in person at 4150 Pinnacle St., Suite 100.
