Before you get into Dry January, New Year’s resolutions, and other general wellbeing behavior that the New Year brings, there’s still one last blow-out night to be had. If you really want to go out with a bang, ring in the New Year at the Lonestar NYE at Reunion Tower.
The signature New Year’s event of the Dallas skyline is the Lone Star NYE show, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Running with the themed “The Most Colorful Year Yet”, the event’s soundtrack will comprise entirely of songs with colors in the title. Those not attending the event can tune in to the simulcast on 98.7 The Spot.

At precisely 11:59 pm, the tower will launch over 5,000 pyrotechnic effects and 259 LED light displays, synchronized with a massive fleet of 500 drones for a 360-degree panoramic spectacle.
While there is no public viewing allowed on the Reunion Tower lawn or the GeO-Deck (unless you have tickets for the Crown Block dinner or the Crown Room NYE Ball – both sold out), the show is designed to be seen from miles away.
Spectators typically gather at vantage points like Trinity Groves, the Ronald Kirk Bridge, or nearby rooftop parties at Tower Club Dallas, Skyfire @ HQ Dallas and Virgin, Omni, and Canvas hotels. Street closures of surrounding areas will begin around 7:30 pm, which will include Reunion Blvd, Hotel St., and other nearby streets.

For those staying warm at home, the 360-degree panoramic spectacular will be broadcast live on NBC 5-KXAS from 11:30 pm to 12:30 am, ensuring that whether you’re on a Dallas street corner or a living room couch, you have a front-row seat to the most iconic countdown in the North Texas.
Wherever you celebrate New Year’s Eve in Dallas this year, just be sure to tune into the Dallas skyline at 11:59 pm when the fireworks go off!
