Texas football continued it’s hiatus from Royal Memorial Stadium and traveled to Lexington, Ky. to play the Wildcats where the the Longhorns won in overtime 16-13.

After a 23-6 victory over Oklahoma last week, the Longhorns have two straight wins. However, Saturday was anything but easy for the Longhorns offense in the face of a ferocious Kentucky defense.

Texas quarterback Arch Manning finished the night going 12-of-27 passing for 132 yards. Ryan Niblett’s two punt returns for 88 yards helped keep the Longhorns in the game. But a Kentucky field goal in the final seconds of the fourth quarter sent the game to overtime.

In the extra period, the Longhorns’ defense stood tall. After a big gain to the Texas 5, Kentucky was stonewalled on four straight plays at the goal line. Mason Shipley made a 45-yard field goal to win the game on the next possession.
