A man in Lubbock was arrested for the second time in two months, but this time it was for kidnapping and sexual assault.

Repeat Offender Arrested in Lubbock

49-year-old Robert Arnold from Lubbock was arrested on December 23 after he forced a woman to his home at gunpoint before he proceeded to severely beat her.

It all started back in November when Lubbock PD sent officers to Arnold’s home on 88th Street. Here they found scratch marks on the floor and multiple items seemingly thrown around the house.

A woman at the residence reportedly told police that she and Arnold had engaged in a heated argument where Arnold threw her phone when she attempted to call the cops. He then allegedly placed his arms around her neck in a headlock before she struggled free.

Everything Lubbock reported that Arnold then sexually assaulted her after she tried reaching for her car keys. She was then able to run to the bathroom before fleeing the building and contacting the police.

Arnold was then arrested and placed on a $70,000 bond which he posted shortly thereafter.

Arnold’s Second Arrest in December

Fast forward to December 23, and Robert Arnold was arrested yet again after he tracked the same woman to a convenience store before approaching her and saying he has a gun.

Complying with his demands by driving back to his house, the woman was then strangled and punched repeatedly by Arnold. Court records state that he paused only to let her breathe. “I’m [going to] make you work for your death,” he told her.

Arnold was also recorded saying that he was going to shoot her in the head before turning the gun on himself.

The woman was then sexually assaulted by Arnold, but at some point, she was able to convince him that she needed to take her vehicle to her own house in order to help him avoid suspicion.

He went with her to her home where witnesses were able to notice her injuries and her odd behavior before calling the cops.

Due to the nature of this incident being a repeat arrest against the same victim, violating the protective order placed after the November arrest, Arnold was charged with numerous other crimes including the following:

2 counts of violating a protective orderAggravated kidnapping with sexual abuseAggravated sexual assaultAggravated assault of a date/family member with serious bodily injuryAssault of a family member by strangulation

Robert Arnold was sent to the Lubbock County Detention Center and has been held as of Monday on bonds totaling $925,000.
