BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Sam Houston volleyball team took WKU to the brink but fell in five sets in the finale of a two-game series on Saturday afternoon at E.A. Diddle Arena.
The Bearkats (8-13, 0-8 CUSA) took the first set (25-21) then fell behind before they took the fourth set (25-21). WKU (17-4, 8-0 CUSA) led the entire fifth set and ended up closing it out 15-8.
Chelsea Butler led the Kats in kills, reaching double figures with 16. Chloe Monson and Lauren Malone also joined her in the double digits with 14 and 11 kills, respectively. Avery Fowler led the Kats in assists with 29 and Shaelin White led the team in digs with 15.
The Kats continue their road swing at Jax State where they face off in a two-games series against the Gamecocks at Pete Mathews Coliseum on Friday at 6 p.m.
