AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Multiple agencies and the Texas A&M Forest Service are working to contain two fires burning in Potter and Wheeler counties.
According to the Texas A&M Forest Service (TFS) the “C2″ fire in Potter County has burned about 100 acres and is 90% contained.
Officials say three aircraft from Dumas and a private helicopter assisted with the C2 fire by dropping fire retardant to slow the flames and protect nearby land.
In Wheeler County, crews are battling the “Bronco Creek” fire, which has burned about 195 acres and is 75% contained.
Officials say forward progression of both fires has stopped.
Multiple agencies are assisting in both responses as windy conditions continue across the Panhandle.
We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
