Two of the most-hyped quarterback prospects in a generation will square off Wednesday in the Citrus Bowl when No. 13 Texas and No. 18 Michigan tangle from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Longhorns signal-caller Arch Manning will be looking to cap a strong, late-season surge as he faces off with highly touted Michigan freshman Bryce Underwood.
As the top-ranked prospect from the Class of 2025, Underwood received the keys to Michigan’s offense as a true freshman and guided the Wolverines to a 9-3 regular season. Facing off against Manning and the Longhorns represents a showcase opportunity for Underwood, who will soon face a big decision about whether he wants to stay at Michigan and play for new coach Kyle Whittingham.
Manning has already signaled his intent to return to Texas for his redshirt junior season in 2026. The top-ranked prospect from the Class of 2023 went through ups and downs during his first season as Texas’ starter but has been playing some of his best football lately. Though some key players around him have opted out for this game, it still represents a chance for Manning to make a statement entering the offseason.
