CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area kicked off 2026 with a flurry of new arrivals.
On New Year’s Eve, the labor and delivery team welcomed seven babies, and the celebrations continued just after midnight with the first baby of the year.
The New Year’s Day baby, a girl named Spadelyn, arrived at 12:14 a.m., earlier than expected, bringing joy to her family and marking a heartwarming start to 2026.
CCMC stated that Dr. Denise Lochner delivered the newborn, and the hospital team worked around the clock during the holiday season to ensure patients’ safety and comfort.
“This past year has been remarkable for our Labor & Delivery team,” said the CEO of CCMC. “Our staff take great pride in supporting families and helping our community celebrate the new year with the gift of life.”
