HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Houston Christian Women’s Golf heads to Hot Springs, Arkansas, to compete in the Diamante Intercollegiate from October 19–21. The three-day tournament features a competitive 17-team field that includes Lipscomb, UT Arlington, Ball State, Oral Roberts, UTRGV, Boston College, Tennessee State, Arkansas State, Texas A&M–Corpus Christi, California Baptist, Little Rock, Missouri State, Seattle, Memphis, Central Arkansas, East Texas A&M, and Stephen F. Austin.
The Huskies enter the week coming off an impressive showing at the Golf Iconic Classic in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where they tied for fifth after climbing three spots on the final day. The team displayed strong consistency and focus throughout the event, finishing among the tournament’s top programs.
Sophomore Natcha Makmanee leads HCU into the Diamante Intercollegiate after an outstanding performance in Las Cruces, where she placed third at seven under par. Makmanee showcased poise and precision across all three rounds, shooting 68, 70, and 71 to remain near the top of the leaderboard throughout the weekend.
Hailey Hendershott also closed strong in New Mexico, moving up ten spots in the final round to finish 22nd. Her steady play and ability to stay composed under pressure were key to the Huskies’ late push on the leaderboard.
Alyssa Stewart, Sara Pihlajamaki, and Serena Churchill round out the HCU lineup this week, while Alejandra Ferrer will compete as an individual. Stewart and Pihlajamaki both turned in solid efforts at the Golf Iconic Classic, contributing
consistent rounds to the team’s top-five finish, while Churchill demonstrated grit and focus throughout a challenging field.
The Diamante Intercollegiate will test teams across 54 holes at the Diamante Country Club, offering a mix of strategic par-fives, tight approaches, and fast greens. Tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. each day, with the Huskies set to open play alongside competitors from Ball State and Texas A&M–Corpus Christi.
Following the tournament in Arkansas, Houston Christian will close out its fall schedule at The Bear Brawl in Waco, Texas, on October 28.
