Person dies in New Year’s Day crash in Northeast El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One person is dead after a two vehicle crash on New Year’s Day in Northeast El Paso, according to El Paso police.

Police say the two-vehicle crash happened at around 2 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, on Gateway North at Sean Haggerty.

One person is dead and El Paso Police’s Special Traffic Investigations unit was called out to the scene to investigate the crash.

All lanes were closed in the area for several hours, but lanes opened up just before 10 a.m. on Thursday, according to TxDOT.

No further information has been released.
