A San Antonio dentist was arrested after being accused of assaulting a woman.

Eric Justin Tong, 34, was arrested on Dec. 29 at a home in the 100 block of Pinecrest in Terrell Heights.

He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated sexual assault, assault causing bodily injury to a family member, unlawful restraint and assault on a family member by impeding breath or circulation.

A LinkedIn profile for Tong states he is a dentist in the U.S. Army based in San Antonio. His license with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners remains active.

A preliminary police report from the San Antonio Police Department states that when officers arrived at the residence, they were met by a 21-year-old woman at the door, who stated she needed help. Officers observed that the woman had several markings on her body, the report states.

The woman then told police that she had been assaulted several times and had attempted to flee, but was unable due to Tong restraining her, the report states.

Police found Tong at the residence and placed him under arrest.
