PECOS COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- One person was killed in a rollover crash Friday morning on Interstate 10 in Pecos County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 7:25 a.m. near mile marker 244 on I-10.
Investigators reported that a 2004 Toyota Avalon was traveling eastbound at an unsafe speed when the driver failed to navigate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle entered a side skid and rolled over multiple times, according to DPS.
The driver, identified as 47-year-old Maxenino Flores of San Antonio, was transported to Pecos Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff. DPS said Flores was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.
