Uvalde school officer Adrian Gonzales, who was indicted in 2024 on child endangerment and abandonment charges, will go to trial in Corpus Christi starting Jan. 5.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It’s been three and a half years since a gunman entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, killing 19 students and two teachers.

In the time since, there have been investigations into what happened, reports on its aftermath and court rulings on records requests relating to it all

Now, finally, one of the officers indicted in 2024 over law enforcement’s response to the shooting is going to trial.

Uvalde school officer Adrian Gonzales will be tried on child endangerment and abandonment charges in Corpus Christi starting Jan. 5. (Uvalde school police Chief Pete Arredondo was also indicted on those same charges. His trial date has not been set yet.)

CBS 8 will provide live gavel-to-gavel coverage of the entire process, from jury selection to potential sentencing.

Senior Investigative Reporter Tanya Eiserer will anchor the stream, leading viewers through each development in the trial. She’ll also be joined by expert guests — including attorneys and former law enforcement officers — who will be on hand to provide further analysis of the proceedings.

Coverage begins daily at 6 a.m. PT ( 8 a.m. CT)
