Texas Tech University’s Lady Raiders have signed the tallest player in the history of U.S. women’s college basketball, according to Reuters.
Nigerian athlete Stephanie Okechukwu stands at 7 feet (213 cm). The previous record was held by Middle Tennessee State’s Nicole Dominguez and Eastern Illinois’ Abbie Boutilier, who both stood at 6 feet 10 inches (209 cm). Several other universities were reportedly in the running to sign Okechukwu.
She is currently in the process of obtaining eligibility from the NCAA.
