The Dallas Stars made some goaltender-related roster moves Saturday morning.

Casey DeSmith was granted non-roster status, the team announced. According to the Stars, DeSmith was granted leave due to a personal family matter.

In a corresponding move, the Stars recalled Rémi Poirier from their AHL affiliate.

DeSmith has appeared in 15 games for the Stars this season, posting a 9-2-4 mark with 383 saves. He last played in Dallas’ 4-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Poirier has appeared in 22 games for the AHL’s Texas Stars this season. He owns an 8-10-5 record with 532 saves in AHL play. Dallas originally drafted Poirier in 2020, and re-signed the goaltender on a two-year, two-way contract before the 2025-26 campaign began.
