Around 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to the scene of two shootings, one at East Commerce Street and Alamo Plaza, and a second just blocks away at East Commerce Street and Bowie Street.

When police arrived, they found one victim deceased from at least one gunshot wound, and another with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say that witnesses near the second shooting told them that a group of people near a Nissan Altima had just come from where the gunshots took place.

Officers say they gave commands to the suspects, but the suspects entered the Nissan Altima as the officers were approaching and fled in the vehicle.

Using EAGLE, police were able to track the location of the Nissan and saw multiple people exiting the vehicle near Burnet Street and Onslow, before the vehicle fled from arriving officers a second time.

As a pursuit ensued, EAGLE notified officers on the ground that the vehicle had crashed into a tree, and the suspects fled the scene on foot.

A quadrant was established, and two suspects were apprehended by police, and a firearm was recovered.

The identities of the suspects, as well as the victim who was tragically killed in the shooting, have yet to be released at this time.

This is a developing story. We’ll update this article once we learn more.
