A man is dead after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a concrete pole and an unoccupied vehicle in a dealership parking lot, Plano police said in a statement.

Officers responded to reports of a traffic accident in the 1500 block of Dallas Parkway on Saturday afternoon.

Investigators determined that a vehicle was traveling southbound on Dallas Parkway when the driver, an adult male, lost control.

The vehicle left the roadway and drove into a Subaru dealership parking lot, where it came to a stop after colliding with a concrete pole and an unoccupied vehicle, the statement said. The vehicle then caught fire, and the man was removed.

He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the statement. He remains unidentified.

No other injuries have been reported.
