LUBBOCK, Texas – The Red Raiders (8-11, 0-7) fell to No. 19 BYU (16-3, 4-3) in a closely contested three-set match on Saturday afternoon in the United Supermarkets Arena.
BYU took the first two sets by a score of 25-17 and the final set 26-24 as the Red Raiders refused to go out quietly.
Freshmen Kalli Jioshvili Ravva and Kenna McKenzie led the team with 11 kills each as Addie Kanouff finished with 10 kills on a .360 hitting percentage. Reagan Engler and Shelby Ignash combined for five kills. Jioshvili Ravva notched her third double-double of the season after recording 11 digs.

How it Happened:
The Cougars took a 15-9 into the media timeout before the teams traded the next eight points to make it a 19-13 set. Tech kept it close, but BYU’s didn’t allow any Red Raider runs as they went on to win 25-17.
Tech responded in the second set with a 5-2 lead thanks to a pair of McKenzie kills. BYU tied the set at 7-7 and rode that to a 15-12 lead at the media break. The Cougars pushed their lead after going on a 6-3 run out of the break to take the second set 25-17.
The third set was tight the entire way with the largest lead being just three by the Red Raiders. Tech held a 23-20 lead late in the set but three-straight kills Suli Davis and Claire Little Chambers tied it at 23-23. Ignash got a kill to give Tech set point, but the Cougars buckled down and scored the next three points to secure that victory 26-24.
