COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Freshman runner Titus Kimaru placed first individually with a personal best 8k time of 22:36.1, Friday morning at the Arturo Barrios Invite.

Kimaru crossed the finish line 16 seconds ahead of the next runner to register his third win of the season. The only time he did not finish first this season was at the Gans Creek Classic where he placed 37th. The freshman paced the men’s team who finished fifth overall with a scoring of 1-3-36-61-85. Two more Red Raiders capped off their day with PB times – Victor Kipkoech (3rd, 22:56) and Daniel Mendez (85th, 24:38).
The women’s side was paced by Lily Mather who scored a PB 6k time of 20:04 as she placed 17th overall. Pauline Wanjiku finished 32nd with a PB time of 20:39. The women’s team finished 12trh overall with a 17-32-76-103-125 scoring.
