On Sunday afternoon, Texas women’s basketball will attempt to keep its perfect record intact during a home game against Ole Miss.
Ranked second in the Associated Press poll, Texas (16-0) is off to its best start since it also won the first 16 games of its 2015-16 campaign. Since Arizona State and TCU both lost on Saturday, Texas is also joined by No. 1 UConn (15-0), No. 10 Iowa State (14-0), No. 12 Vanderbilt (14-0) and No. 21 Texas Tech (16-0) as the only undefeated Division I teams left in the country.

Led by Jordan Lee’s five points, Texas has gotten points from five different players in the third quarter. That has helped UT slightly expand its lead.
One highlight for the Longhorns in the third quarter? With Ole Miss trying to get back into the game with a full-court press, Rori Harmon made the Rebels pay for that defensive decision when she mimicked Texas quarterback Arch Manning and rifled a full-court pass to Jordan Lee. Ole Miss starting forward Latasha Lattimore was a member of Vic Schaefer’s first recruiting class at Texas, and she appeared in 32 games during the 2021-22Â season. Ole Miss assistant coach Empress Davenport played at Texas from 2012-16, and she was recognized ahead of her homecoming on Sunday.
