SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Two people were hurt as they tried to stop a fight outside the San Antonio Zoo Saturday evening.

The San Antonio Police Department says it happened just after 6 p.m. on North St. Mary’s Street.

The fight was outside of the zoo’s gift shop and when two men, an 18-year-old and a 42-year-old tried to break it up, they were stabbed by one of the participants in the fight.

Both men were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and there has been no update on their conditions.

SAPD says they detained a 29-year-old man at the scene. He’s facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

No names have been released and the investigation continues.
