The Little Rock-Fox Fire Protection District says there were no injuries in a fire early Friday morning on Blackhawk Springs Drive south of Plano.
The district says the family living in the home was first alerted by the smell of smoke and then by smoke alarms, allowing them to get out safely.
Firefighters say the fire was located in the attic and was quickly extinguished. While the cause remains under investigation, it is believed to have been electrical in nature.
Due to water and smoke damage, the home was deemed uninhabitable.
The fire occurred at about 2:30 a.m.
The district says it is grateful to the mutual aid departments that assisted in fighting the blaze.
