LUBBOCK, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – The Texas Tech basketball team opened the new year at home in United Supermarkets Arena, with dominating wins against Oklahoma State and Arizona.
Starting with the No. 15 Red Raiders, they dominated the Cowboys 102-80 to open up conference play. Forward JT Toppin was the difference maker, as he had 23 points and 14 boards on the day. They improve to 11-3 on the season, and they face No. 8 Houston on Tuesday.

For the No. 21 Lady Raiders, they dominated the Wildcats 80-49, remaining undefeated on the season. Senior Denae Fritz had a solid showing, as she had 16 points while going 6-for-10 from the field. Head coach Krista Gerlich and the Lady Raiders hit the road on Wednesday to face the West Virginia Mountainers.
