A 29-year-old woman is accused of fatally shooting her partner in Fort Worth and using deadly force, despite not being in imminent danger, after he allegedly hit her, court records say.

Alisha Monique Browley faces a murder charge and is accused of killing 35-year-old Delante Ticorian Washington on Wednesday at Lake Como Park, according to Browley‘s arrest warrant affidavit.

A bystander was first asked to call 911 after a possible domestic incident between the couple who have been dating for about four years, according to the affidavit.

Witnesses told officers the couple had been loudly arguing near the east side of the walking bridge at the lake. The argument escalated when Washington allegedly struck Browley in the face, causing her to bleed from the nose, according to the affidavit.

Browley went up to the bystander, said Washington had broken her nose and asked them to call 911 as he had taken her phone from her, police said in the affidavit.

Browley walked to the sitting area on the east edge of the park while Washington stayed on the west side toward the middle of the walking bridge, according to the affidavit.

Browley allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot Washington several times. Browley then walked to the end of the bridge and asked a jogger to call 911.

When officers arrived at the park, they found Washington injured. He later died at the scene around 6:26 p.m., police said in the affidavit.

Browley was detained by police and taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries she received during the altercation, officials said.

After speaking with witnesses and Browley, investigators determined minutes had passed between when Washington hit Browley and when she shot him, according to the affidavit.

As of Monday, Browley was being held at the Tarrant County jail on a $250,000 bond in connection with the murder charge.
