FORT WORTH – Jack Eugene Clay Jr. was born on April 19, 1944, in Rising Star, Texas, to Jack and Emma Clay. He was reunited with his parents on October 10, 2025. A proud 1962 graduate of Brewer High School, Jack went on to attend the University of North Texas, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education. He began his teaching career at Brewer Middle School, where he taught Art and Science while pursuing his Master’s degree in Education Administration and Superintendent Certification from Tarleton State University. Jack’s dedication to education led him to serve as Assistant Principal at Brewer Middle School for one year before moving to his alma mater, Brewer High School, where he continued as Assistant Principal until his retirement. Throughout his career, he positively impacted countless students, colleagues, and families, leaving a legacy of compassion, humor, and commitment to learning. After retirement, Jack enjoyed a full and active life. He spent his days fishing, gardening, woodworking, and helping friends with home projects. Known for his generosity and love of community, Jack often hosted fish fries for family, friends, and neighbors-always the life of the party and never short on stories to tell. His workshop was a place of creativity and love, where he brought his grandkids’ ideas to life with his hands and heart. In his later years, Jack could often be found riding his golf cart around the neighborhood, visiting with friends, sharing laughs, and offering rides to anyone who joined him. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Leslie Clay; daughters, Amanda Sanchez and husband, Joel, and Jessica Key and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Zack and Luke Sanchez, Beckett, Kingston, and Hawkins Key; brother, Doug Clay and sister-in-law, Sarah; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jack will be remembered for his big heart, sense of humor, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. His legacy of kindness and laughter will live on through the many lives he touched.
