EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 14-year-old girl has died after she jumped out of a moving vehicle last Sunday, Dec. 28, in Northeast El Paso, according to El Paso Police.

Police say they responded just after 11 p.m. on Sunday to the 5700 block of Wren in reference to a welfare check.

When police arrived, they found Allyson Torres, 14, with a laceration to the back of her head. The El Paso Police’s Special Traffic Investigation unit was called out to take over the investigation.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Torres had jumped out of a window of a moving vehicle, causing her to strike her head, police said.

Torres was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and on Saturday, Jan. 3, she died as a result of her injuries.

Police say this is the 62nd traffic fatality for 2025 compared to 68 in 2024.

The incident is still under investigation, police said.
