EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Two El Paso natives, Gia Solei Espinoza and Mia Navarro, have made history by winning the Miss Earth USA and Miss Teen Earth USA titles simultaneously.
The pageant, which concluded on Jan. 3, marked the first time two contestants from El Paso have achieved this feat. “We are beyond excited and honored to be able to represent,” they said.
The competition, held over a week, involved various activities, challenges, and rigorous preparation.
“We prepared for it for months and were practicing every single day,” they said. Their preparation included walk practices, gym sessions, and volunteering.
Espinoza, who will represent the USA internationally later this year, shared her journey from overcoming social anxiety to gaining confidence through pageantry.
Navarro, inspired by her diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, advocates for sustainable medical practices through her platform, Healing Without Harm.
Both winners emphasized the importance of authenticity and staying true to their values.

“I didn’t want to compromise my values or my morals,” they said, “Staying true to myself and who I am… always keeps me authentic.”
Their victory is not just a personal achievement but a source of inspiration for younger generations. “It’s great to know that younger people look up to me and I have that voice to really inspire them,” they said.
The duo’s success is attributed to their strong sisterhood and dedication.
“They saw our platforms and how much we really care about our environment,” they said. Their teamwork and commitment have set a new precedent in the pageant world, making it an “amazing year” for El Paso representation.
