HOUSTON – Harris Health is hosting a town hall meeting Monday night in Harris County Precinct 2 to discuss plans to use eminent domain to acquire a portion of Hermann Park for the expansion of Ben Taub Hospital.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. at the BakerRipley Ripley House Campus, located at 4410 Navigation Blvd.
Harris Health President and CEO Dr. Esmaeil Porsa is expected to attend and provide information about the proposal.
According to Harris Health, the plan involves acquiring 8.9 acres of Hermann Park land through eminent domain to support the hospital’s expansion. The town hall is intended to give residents an opportunity to learn more about the project and ask questions directly to officials.
Members of the public who are unable to attend the meeting can submit comments by email to bentaubexpansion@harrishealth.org.
