AUSTIN, Texas — Two men were found dead after a shooting incident on Monday evening in the 10400 block of O’Rourk Lane, according to the Austin Police Department. The deceased have been identified as 79-year-old Charles Wagnon and 20-year-old Trevor Shepherd, both of Austin, Texas.

Officers responded to the scene at 5:19 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Wagnon and Shepherd, who were grandfather and grandson, with apparent gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, stated the Austin Police Department.

Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists were called to process the scene and conduct interviews. The investigation revealed that a verbal altercation between Wagnon and Shepherd escalated, resulting in both individuals shooting each other inside the residence.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 53rd and 54th homicides of 2025. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS.
