DALLAS – AT&T has announced plans to move its employees from its longtime downtown Dallas base to a new global headquarters in Plano.
The new campus will be built on a 54-acre site at 5400 Legacy Dr. AT&T expects partial occupancy as early as the second half of 2028.
CEO John Stankey said the Plano headquarters will allow AT&T to consolidate administrative operations across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including large offices in central Dallas, Plano, and Irving.
AT&T employs thousands in Dallas and occupies roughly two million sf downtown, including the Discovery District. Its lease at Whitacre Tower runs through 2031.
The new Plano site was previously home to Electronic Data Systems, founded by H. Ross Perot Sr.
