LUBBOCK, Texas — A 20-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly breaking into an apartment, firing a gun, and abducting a one-year-old child, according to the Lubbock Police Department.

The child was found unharmed and returned to its mother.

Officers responded to the incident around 11:20 p.m. in the 5500 block of 58th Street. The suspect, Patrick Contreras, was located approximately an hour and a half later, stated the department. Contreras faces multiple charges and is currently held at the Lubbock County Detention Center.
